Slovak private companies will supply armored excavators and mine clearance vehicles based on the T-72 tank.
Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal said that Ukraine is building a large-scale three-level line of defense lines in all directions, tens of billions of hryvnias have been allocated for this. He said this at a joint briefing with the head of the government of Slovakia, Robert Fico, in Uzhgorod on January 24, Ukrinform reports.
According to Shmygal, Ukraine can buy special equipment for the construction of defense structures from Slovakia.
“We need a large additional amount of engineering equipment. We agreed with Prime Minister Fico that we will cooperate with the supply of such equipment from the Slovak Republic,” said the Prime Minister.
He clarified that private Slovak companies will supply armored excavators and mine clearance vehicles based on the T-72 tank.
“Slovakia has already decided to supply two Bozena-4 demining vehicles so that our sappers can carry out the corresponding work in the deoccupied part of the Kherson region. We are very grateful for this,” said Shmyhal.
Let’s recall that in March 2023, the Ukrainian government decided to urgently build fortifications in some regions.
As reported, the Ukrainian government has allocated a record amount for the development of defense lines. We are talking about UAH 17.5 billion, which will be spent on the construction of engineering and fortification structures, related equipment and a non-explosive fencing system.
