Moreover, hostile propaganda stated that there were supposedly 65 Ukrainian prisoners of war on board the Il-76, who were “transported for exchange.” Russian media write about this with reference to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Also on board were six crew members and three attendants. The plane was probably shot down.
The Ukrayinska Pravda publication, citing sources, noted that the plane was transporting missiles to S-300 systems, which the Russians are using to fire at the Kharkov region.
And “Public” writes that the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense cannot yet confirm that the plane was hit by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, since “they are still finding out the information.”
The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War commented on the statement of the Ministry of Defense and emphasized that they were collecting and analyzing information. The headquarters urged to wait for official statements from the authorities.
Meanwhile, the first photos from the crash site of a Russian military transport plane near Belgorod appeared online. In one of the photographs you can see the trace of a missile, which probably hit the plane.
Let us remind you that on January 24, a military transport aircraft Il-76 of the Russian Armed Forces crashed in the Belgorod region. There were 63 people on board, all of them died.
