The head of the government of Slovakia, despite the fact that there is “normal life” in Kyiv, believes that it is still more beneficial for him to go to Uzhgorod.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, after the attack by Russian troops in the morning in Kyiv, said that life in the capital of Ukraine was supposedly “normal.” It was reported by Reuters.
The head of the Slovak government was asked if it was appropriate for him to travel to Kyiv to better understand Russia’s war against Ukraine, which is now in its second year. He called the war a “local conflict”.
“Do you seriously think there is a war in Kyiv? You are joking. Please, I hope you are not serious. Go there and you will see that there is normal life in the city, completely normal life,” said the Slovak official.
According to him, it would be “more practical” to meet in Uzhgorod. According to him, Ukraine chose this city after Fico first wanted to visit.
We remind you that this is not the first scandalous statement of the Slovak Prime Minister. In the past, he claimed that he considered Ukraine not ready for EU accession negotiations.
