According to RMF24, the investigation has been suspended due to lack of cooperation from Ukraine. The prosecutor’s office said the decision was made “due to the obstacle of waiting for requests for international legal assistance to be fulfilled, which prevents further investigation.”
Polish investigators sent inquiries to the Ukrainian authorities, but received no response. One of the requests was to obtain information that would allow 100% confirmation of who fired the missile and from where.
The suspension of the proceedings means that it is impossible to definitively establish the circumstances of the incident, and therefore determine who is responsible for the deaths of Polish citizens.
Both the American and Polish governments previously stated that a Ukrainian air defense missile fell in Przewoduwa.
On November 15, 2022, in the village of Przewodów, Lublin Voivodeship, near the Polish-Ukrainian border, two people were killed as a result of a rocket explosion on November 15.
Poland and the United States, based on their information, are inclined to believe that it was a missile from the Ukrainian air defense system. At the same time, Ukraine questioned this. Ukrainian experts who visited the site of the rocket crash also joined the Polish investigation.
