The press service of the ministry reported this on Monday, January 22.
Of the total amount 10.7 million UAH. The State Special Transport Service of Ukraine received another 10.7 million UAH. received by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The allocated money will be used for the purchase of equipment and weapons, optical and thermal imaging devices, communications equipment, production of ammunition, repair and maintenance of equipment, as well as spare parts and components for it.
The specified amount was allocated from the state budget reserve fund. This is caused by changes in the administration of the “military personal income tax” in 2024. Now 10% of the “military personal income tax” portion, which is credited to the state budget, will be automatically returned to military units in proportion to the tax they paid.
The new mechanism will start working from the beginning of February, after personal income tax is paid for January.
To close the “financial gap,” the government allocated funds from the reserve fund for emergency defense needs in January. After all, providing military personnel with everything they need is a process that should continue uninterruptedly by default,” commented Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Dzhigir.
Each team will independently formulate its own needs. Priority is given to military units directly involved in hostilities, the department notes. The brigades must create a list of needs and provide it to the Ministry of Defense.
