The majority of Japanese people “do not feel friendly” in Russia. This was confirmed by the results of a survey made by the Japanese government. Its results were published by the Kyodo portal on Sunday, January 21.
It is noted that there are more than 95% of those who do not like Russians.
“This is a record for the second year in a row. Yes, only 4.1 percent of Japanese people “feel friendly” towards the Russian Federation,” the portal wrote.
Sociologists point out that the main reason for this trend is Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
At the same time, the researchers pointed out that Russia is not the only country that arouses feelings of hatred among the Japanese. A record level of hostility was recorded in Japanese attitudes toward China. Thus, 86.7% of respondents expressed a lack of “friendly feelings” towards the Celestial Empire.
According to analysts, it was influenced by tensions between Beijing and Tokyo, Taiwan, and the dispute over the Senkaku Islands.
Meanwhile, a survey showed improving sentiment about South Korea. Thus, 52.8 percent of respondents said that they “feel friendly” in this country.
