The Department of Defense is working to bring greater interoperability to the Alliance in acquisition, budgeting, integrity and institutions.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine separated the development of acquisition policies and their implementation, thus moving to the standards of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO). This was stated on Sunday, January 21, by Deputy Minister of Defense Dmitry Klimenko at a meeting with the political adviser of the US Embassy in Kyiv, Christian Moore, as indicated on the website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Klimenkov informed that the Procurement Policy Department was created within the department, which is responsible for the development of the procurement policy. The procurement is carried out by separate agencies – the State Logistics Operator and the Defense Procurement Agency.
The representative of the Ministry of Defense emphasized that the department is working to bring closer the compatibility with the North Atlantic Alliance in matters of procurement organization, budget process and integrity.
“Cooperation with NATO countries is a unique opportunity to attract advanced military experience and integrate it into our own defense system. We are committed to improving the standards and training of our military personnel, as well as strengthening the country’s defense power,” said the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
We remind you that representatives of the Ministry of Defense conducted a surprise inspection of food warehouses for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The reason was complaints from the military.
