The State Food and Consumer Service called on citizens to report if they have seen this tea in stores.
A dangerous tea mixture containing jasmine and pesticide residues, including chlorpyrifos, was discovered in Ukraine. The Main Director of the State Food Service in the Chernivtsi region warned about this.
It is noted that the jasmine comes from China, and the tea mixture is brought from Germany (manufacturer: Kirchner Fischer & Co., Elmshorn) – the recipient in Ukraine is Svit Tea LLC.
Consumers are urged, if they see this tea on the shelves, to report the violation to the Main Directorate of the State Food and Consumer Service in the Chernivtsi region by phone: (0372) 553409.
It also reported that according to the American Academy of Pediatrics, prenatal exposure to chlorpyrifos causes lower birth weight, lower IQ levels, loss of working memory, impaired attention and delayed motor development. Chlorpyrifos can also cause severe pesticide poisoning and lead to seizures, respiratory paralysis and sometimes death.
We remind you that last year dangerous frozen seafood was imported into Ukraine, which was found to contain excess cadmium. And before that, poisonous nuts were brought to Ukraine from Egypt. It is found on store shelves in Odessa and the region, as well as in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
