The leader of the outlawed Communist Party of Ukraine, Pyotr Symonenko, who supported Russia’s armed invasion, was placed on the wanted list.
The Security Service of Ukraine has placed the former leader of the banned Communist Party in Ukraine, Petro Symonenko, on the wanted list. His card appeared in the search database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The date of Simonenko’s disappearance from the card is indicated as August 19, 2023.
Simonenko appears in criminal proceedings opened under Part 3 of Art. 109 (public call for a violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or the usurpation of state power using the media) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. On August 11, suspicion was declared against him.
The SBU reported that during the occupation of the Kyiv region, he appealed to the highest military-political leadership of Russia about his “evacuation.”
“In order to get Simonenko and his family out of the village of Berezovka, Makarovsky district, which was captured at that time, the Kremlin ordered a detachment of Russian special forces to be sent there. Upon the arrival of the special forces of Russia in the Ukrainian settlement, the former representative of the people met them personally, and then “quartered” them in his own house and supplied them with food,” the SBU reported.
