The right to engage in legal practice of the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov was renewed in accordance with clause 1, part 4, article 31 of the Law “On the Bar and Advocacy” from January 16 on the basis of his application, the message states.
Reznikov suspended the right to practice law in March 2020 immediately after his appointment to the post of Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine. In November 2021, he became the Minister of Defense of Ukraine. On September 5, 2023, parliament accepted his resignation.
Reznikov received a lawyer’s certificate in 1994 at the Lviv Regional KSCA. Before joining the Cabinet of Ministers, he worked in law firms and bar associations.
In April 2014, at the extraordinary Congress of Lawyers of Ukraine in Odessa, he was elected one of three members of the High Council of Justice (today the High Council of Justice) under the bar quota.
