Users of social networks sometimes unwittingly help the occupiers by spreading information about the activities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The consequence could be a breakdown of the military operation, the death of Ukrainian soldiers and the loss of weapons.
Russian intelligence services receive at least 60% of their intelligence data from social networks. This was announced on Friday, January 19, by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Immediately distributed photos and video material about the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine became one of the main sources of intelligence information for the enemy,” the statement said.
The General Staff emphasized that the dissemination of such publications could result in the disruption of a military operation, the death of Ukrainian soldiers and the loss of weapons and military equipment. In turn, the authors of the hype messages risk receiving criminal convictions and ending up behind bars.
The General Staff urges you not to film or disseminate any information about:
-
operation of air defense systems;
-
movement and areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment;
-
arsenals, bases, warehouses for the storage of material and technical supplies, as well as international logistical assistance;
-
enterprises that produce new types of weapons, repair equipment, ammunition and satisfy other military needs.
At the same time, the General Staff calls for the prevention of disseminating its own “exclusive” information about the course of the conflict or the progress of combat missions.
“Do not disseminate such information to the general public until it is confirmed by official sources,” wrote the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The military added that the silence of the information will not allow the enemy to know the army’s plans, will save Ukrainian lives and bring us closer to our common victory.
It was previously reported that the SBU exposed the blogger who filmed the attack on Khmelnitsky.
Bloggers who filmed the “arrival” in Kyiv were detained
