The Russians are developing an analogue of the Iranian Shahed drone called “Hawk”. The Russian design bureau Stratim has launched a budget analogue of the Iranian drone with a flight range of 350 km.

The device will be equipped with a high-explosive warhead with a load weight of 16 kg. The drone, allegedly, will “be distinguished by its low cost, since it is made entirely from civilian components,” propaganda Russian media reported this, citing messages from representatives of the Russian design bureau Stratim.
It will also be used as a pseudo-cruise missile – a misguided target to divert air defense systems.
The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) noted that Russian forces had previously used tactics to divert the attention of Ukrainian air defense in a series of attacks on Ukraine.
On January 18, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited the State Machine-Building Design Bureau “Raduga” (GosMKB “Raduga”), a subsidiary of the Tactical Missile Weapons Corporation (KTRV), in the Moscow region.
Earlier, Shoigu gave the enterprise the task of increasing the flight range of unidentified weapons from 250 kilometers to more than 300 km. KTRV General Director Boris Obnosov said that the company has already tested weapons with a flight range of 310 km.
Obnosov also noted that the State Design Bureau “Raduga” has reduced the cost of production of this weapon and increased its warhead from 450 to 800 kilograms.
General Director of the State Design Bureau “Raduga” Sergei Bogatikov said that the company doubled its staff, purchased new testing equipment and tools, expanded production facilities, and also established 12-hour shifts, which allowed it to work around the clock and increase production volumes.
Bogatikov’s statements and some facts indicate that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the Raduga State Design Bureau has increased the production of precision weapons eightfold.
