Poland has extended temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees until March 4, 2025.

The temporary protection mechanism, initially activated for one year by an implementing decision of the EU Council in March 2022, was extended for another year until 4 March 2025. Accordingly, the validity period of the temporary protection certificates issued so far has also been extended, the Polish government said in a statement.
People who have received a certificate of temporary protection from the Office of Foreigners valid until March 4, 2023, September 4, 2023 or March 4, 2024 do not need to apply for new documents. These certificates will be valid until March 4, 2025.
In the fall of 2023, the Council of the European Union extended the temporary protection mechanism for Ukrainians fleeing war until March 2025. As of the end of October 2023, 4.24 million refugees from Ukraine received temporary asylum in the European Union.
