The attacker received a task from the enemy to identify and transmit the coordinates where toxic substances are stored, including warehouses and storage facilities for pesticides. He also scouted possible locations and movement routes of the Defense Forces. At the specified geolocations, the occupiers planned to carry out air attacks using missile weapons and Shahed-type UAVs. The SBU press center reported this on January 18.
Law enforcement officers found out that the Russians wanted to provoke an environmental disaster in the region and thus undermine the internal situation.
The enemy agent went to work as a taxi driver and, under the guise of transporting passengers, recorded the location of objects necessary for the aggressor. The traitor’s crimes were documented and he was subsequently detained.
The defendant turned out to be a student at Odessa University, whom the enemy intelligence service recruited in the fall of 2023. The attacker was promised to pay money for the work done. He has already been informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 (high treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The agent faces life imprisonment.
Let us remind you that on January 17, SBU cyber specialists detained an informant of the Russian special services who was collecting intelligence information about the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kirovograd region.
