There is a “destruction” of the foundations on which German society was built after the war, Sergei Lavrov said.
In Russia, they were alarmed that “historical amnesia is allegedly developing” in Germany’s ruling circles, as well as that “Nazi instincts are beginning to take hold.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said this at a press conference on the results of Russian diplomacy in 2023 on Thursday, January 18.
“Somewhere out there, in Germany’s ruling circles, such historical amnesia is already developing. The exhibitions of the memorial complexes dedicated to the end of the Second World War, the exhibitions designed jointly by the Germans and Russians, and even the Soviet, experts – all this is being reformed so that in one place the Soviet-Russian trace of all these events can be removed,” complained Lavrov.
According to the Russian minister, there is now a “destruction” of the foundations on which German society was built after the war.
“Now the (Nazi – ed.) instincts are starting to make their way, and this is alarming,” said the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Germany has become the second largest supplier of arms to Ukraine after the United States. In 2023, Berlin’s military aid reached 5.4 billion euros, and in 2024 it should reach 7 billion euros.
