Work continues on the negotiating framework to identify the tasks Ukraine still needs to perform.

The European Commission named the four main bills that the Verkhovna Rada had to accept before March for the country to join the EU. So far, the Ukrainian parliament has adopted three of them. And at the last meeting the fourth reading passed the first reading. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk spoke about this on Wednesday, January 17.

He mentioned that we are talking about a draft law on lobbying.

According to Stefanchuk, the start of negotiations on the accession of Ukraine to the European Union requires the fulfillment of several other instructions.

“In particular, it is a question of screening legislation. We have already carried out our screening and passed it on to our partners for study,” said the spokesperson, adding that they should conduct it in 35 thematic sections.

Work is also underway on a negotiating framework to identify work Ukraine still needs to do.

“This framework will be a guide for the authorities and society of Ukraine. Its implementation is the finish line on the path to the European integration of the state,” said Stefanchuk.

The President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, spoke with the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, in Davos, Switzerland. They agreed to start screening Ukrainian law.
