Two of the 14 Leopards purchased for the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Netherlands and Denmark are already ready to be sent to Ukraine. The armored vehicles underwent a major overhaul at Rheinmetall facilities. First, the tanks will be sent to Poland to train Ukrainian military personnel. On January 17, Dutch Defense Minister Kaisa Ollongren announced this on social networks.

The first 2 of 14 Leopard 2 tanks for Ukraine are ready for use. The Netherlands and Denmark ordered it from industry. After the Ukrainian military has been trained, modern battle tanks will be delivered to Ukraine as soon as possible, the statement said.

According to the head of the Dutch Ministry of Defense, Rheinmetall will prepare the remaining 12 tanks in the coming months. The Leopards, along with spare parts and ammunition, will be delivered to Ukraine in the summer of 2024.

Let us recall that on December 15, the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense reported that the first Leopard 2 tanks damaged in battle had been repaired. The allies stated that soon these armored vehicles would again be on the battlefield in Ukraine.
