Relatives of the victims called on the UK government to investigate whether war crimes had been committed.
Two British volunteers – Chris Perry and Andrew Bagshaw – disappeared in January 2023 near the city of Soledar, Donetsk region. Wagner PMC mercenaries may have killed them. Sky News reported this.
Both missing foreigners tried to help evacuate civilians in the city of Soledar. Together they saved hundreds of lives by pulling people from the rubble in populated areas of the Donetsk region.
The British Foreign Office said the volunteers were killed by an artillery shell, but Bagshaw’s family said post-mortem results showed otherwise – they were killed.
The results show Bagshaw was shot in the torso and once in the head, his father said, calling it a “traditional execution style.” He added that Chris Perry’s injuries were “very similar.”
The media also noted that a few days after the disappearance of the volunteers, the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, published a photo that seemed to show passports with the names Bagshaw and Perry.
The relatives also called on the British government to investigate whether war crimes had been committed.
We remind you that in December, the Russian military captured three Ukrainian defenders near the village of Rabotino, Zaporozhye region. An hour later the invaders shot them.
The video of the shooting went viral. The prosecutor’s office began an investigation.
