Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said the IDF was able to control the roads leading to the city of Rafah.
Israel plans to complete the intensive phase of its offensive in the southern Gaza Strip as soon as possible. This is what Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said, reports The Times of Israel.
“In the south of the Gaza Strip (the intense phase – ed.) is about to end,” he said, commenting on the fighting in the area of the city of Khan Yunis.
According to him, the Israeli military there is focused on eliminating the leadership of Hamas.
“As part of these actions, the Khan Younis Brigade was gradually destroyed as a fighting force,” the Israeli official said.
He added that Israel also controlled the roads leading to the city of Rafah.
Gallant added that “political uncertainty may hinder the progress of military operations.”
“The future government in Gaza must grow from the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip. Gaza will be governed by the Palestinians. The end of the military campaign must be ensured by a political action,” concluded the minister.
Let’s remember that Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that the Yemeni Houthis will not stop “attacking Israeli ships” in the Red Sea as long as Israel continues its military operation in the Gaza Strip.
