On that day, the deputy commander of the 43rd separate naval assault aviation regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Chornobrivy, was eliminated. This officer became “cargo 200” during the missile attack on “Saki” on the night of January 5-6. This was reported by the Crimean Wind Telegram channel.
Let us remind you that on January 4, a complex special operation took place on the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea. The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and other units of the Defense Forces successfully attacked Russian radar positions at the Saki airfield in Novofedorovka.
The 43rd Fighter Aviation Regiment is based there, armed with Su-24 bombers and Su-30 fighters. These planes became the basis of the air force attacking the south of Ukraine. Also under attack by the Defense Forces that day was an ammunition depot near the village of Grishino.
British intelligence said the attacks could have worsened Russian air defense awareness and cover over occupied Crimea.
