On January 12, US Special Representative for the Reconstruction of Ukraine Pritzker discussed with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities the dubious appointment of the head of the Accounts Chamber, contrary to the recommendations of the G7.

We talked about the importance of not only passing laws, and not only appointing people to positions, but also providing procedures for vetting candidates so that both Ukrainians and not only Ukrainians have confidence in the oversight that Ukrainian institutions carry out,” she explained, answering questions European truth.
However, Pritzker did not clarify Washington’s expectations in this regard, emphasizing only that the United States “will not remain silent” in the event of other appointments without verification.
Last Wednesday, the Council appointed Peschanskaya as chairman of the Accounts Chamber, despite the reservation of the G7 ambassadors.
Before that, she held the position of head of the AMCU, and before her appointment to the AMCU, she was involved in organizing procurement for ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog PJSC and had a number of private companies.
The media found out that Olga Peschanskaya’s sister Svetlana became the director of an Italian company, to which a villa on the coast of the Forte dei Marmi resort, owned by President Zelensky, was previously registered. Svetlana Peschanskaya also appeared among the big sponsors of the Servant of the People party and declared a personal acquaintance with the president.
In turn, Peschanskaya argued that in the case of her career growth after Zelensky’s election, “we are not talking about nepotism.”
International partners and organizations called on Kyiv not to rush into the appointment and first regulate the activities of the Accounts Chamber at the legislative level.
The issue of Peschanskaya’s appointment was on the agenda on December 21 last year, but then the deputies did not vote for her appointment.
