Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said that support for Ukraine remains strong and completely unchanged.
In Italy, the lower house of parliament supported a resolution to continue military support for Ukraine. ANSA reported this.
The resolution obliges the government to “continue to support, in accordance with its commitments and what has been agreed within NATO and the EU, as well as in international forums to which Italy belongs, the Ukrainian authorities , including through the transfer of military assets. , materials and equipment.”
According to Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, support for Ukraine remains strong and completely unchanged, and therefore it would be “a strategic and political mistake to retreat now.” The aid will continue until the Russian attack stops.
“Ukraine’s difficulties can be explained by the presence of large minefields. Ukrainian intelligence estimates that there are more than eight million mines used by the Russians to protect their positions,” Crosetto said.
He added that after seven aid packages, the green light was recently given to send the eighth tranche of equipment, materials and systems to Ukraine.
Let’s remember that Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said it’s time to start looking for a political solution to end Russia’s war in Ukraine.
In the past, Crosetto said that Italy continues to support Ukraine against the backdrop of Russian aggression, but that Italian military assistance “cannot be unlimited.”
