Israeli and Egyptian security services refused to allow the evacuation of 29 Ukrainian citizens.
There are some Ukrainian citizens who have received refusals to evacuate from the Gaza Strip, although they are included in the relevant lists. This was announced on Wednesday, January 10, by Ukraine’s Ambassador to Israel Yevgeny Korniychuk in a commentary on Radio Liberty.
“Actually, there are still people who want to (escape – ed.), but there is no chance, because of the lists we submitted, some of the people were rejected by the competent authorities of Israel and Egypt. We refused permission to leave 29 citizens from the entire list, which we served,” said Korniychuk.
In his opinion, the reasons for this rejection are clearly “certain security issues regarding these individuals.”
Korniychuk also added that in some cases the embassy still obtained permission to evacuate people who were initially denied – additional measures were taken against them during their stay in Egypt: “they were asked, investigative actions were taken, and they were released. .”
We remind you that on December 10 it was announced that Ukraine completed a special operation to rescue citizens from the Gaza Strip. They managed to evacuate 315 people: 304 Ukrainians, two Palestinians, and nine Moldovan citizens.
