All attempts to penetrate the Russian DRGs were rebuffed even before crossing the Ukrainian border.
So far, there are no signs of the creation of conquering groups in the northern direction. The spokesman of the joint press center of the Northern Defense Forces, Colonel Yuri Povkh, announced this on Tuesday, January 9, during a telethon.
“So far, there are no signs of the creation of enemy groups in this direction. The intelligence is carefully monitoring the situation. Accordingly, if it happens, it will be reported,” Povkh emphasized.
He added that the Ukrainian military is equipping the state border line with engineering obstacles and minefields.
“In the first week of the month, engineers operating in the northern operational zone laid more than a thousand anti-tank mines,” Povkh stressed.
According to him, the situation in the directions of Volyn and Polesie is stable, however, within the regions of Chernigov and Sumy, the enemy continues to harm the territorial communities of the border area, using mortars and cannons that artillery.
The spokesman of the Northern Defense Forces noted that all attempts to penetrate the DRGs of Russia were rejected even before crossing the Ukrainian border. According to him, they may have different tasks.
“This both scares the population of the border region, and possible actions in the direction of critical infrastructure facilities located near the state border,” said Povkh.
He added that previously there were recorded attempts by the RF DRG to penetrate into Ukraine on average 8-10 times a month.
“The actions of sabotage and reconnaissance groups are the usual tactics of enemy actions where there is no constant battle on the front line. Therefore, this exercise is monitored by our troops at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other security forces. which are part of the Defense Forces,” Povkh emphasized.

In the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces liquidated 820 invaders. The total number of losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine is 365,990 military personnel.
