In Irpen, Kyiv region, a utility worker rescued a dog that fell into a pond from freezing water. The command post of the Irpen Improvement Department reported this on Tuesday, January 9.

They said the person who dived into the cold water was utility company worker Viktor Shkolnik.

“He responded quickly and well, as a result of which he saved the dog from the freezing water on the Irpen embankment at -13°C,” the report said.

The rescued animal, as they wrote in the command post, was not in danger.

Utility workers are calling on citizens to be cautious and helpful, especially during inclement weather and frost. And also keep an eye on your pets and don’t let them out unattended, especially near water bodies.
