The city of Modena canceled the permit for the propaganda exhibition “Mariupol – revival after the war”.
At the request of the Ukrainian side, the mayor’s office of the Italian city of Modena withdrew permission for a propaganda exhibition about the occupied Mariupol. This was announced by the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Nikolenko on Facebook on Tuesday, January 9.
“We wholeheartedly welcome this decision. We thank the city mayor’s office and the Ukrainians in Italy, who did not allow Italian society to be misled about the consequences of Russia’s crimes in Mariupol and Ukraine. We urge others other cities in the world not to provide platforms for such Russian provocations. This will be an important contribution to Ukraine’s victory against Russian aggression,” he wrote.
Let’s recall that earlier information appeared that Modena was planning to hold a public event to discuss how Mariupol allegedly went through a “quick recovery process” after it was annexed by Russia. The organizers posted a corresponding announcement on Facebook.
The spokesman of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called an exhibition in Modena about the “birthday” of Mariupol under Russian occupation a provocation.
As reported, schools in Mariupol intend to regularly show children video messages from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
