From the first days of Russia’s massive invasion of Ukraine, the poet volunteered for the war.
Ukrainian poet and soldier Maxim Krivtsov, call sign “Dali,” died in the war at the age of 33. This was announced on Sunday, January 7, by Krivtsov’s mother on her Facebook page, the writer Lyubko Deresh, the volunteer Lesya Litvinova, as well as the Ukrainian director Irina Tsilik.
“How wonderful Max is. With such ease and joy I recommend him to everyone as a poet. About a week ago I received from him his newly published book of poems, which he is very proud of. He has no time to enjoy properly, I want to howl like a wolf “, wrote Tselik.
According to the publishing house Our Format, Krivtsov volunteered for the war in 2014. Then he worked at the Center for Rehabilitation and Readaptation of ATO and JFO Participants and at the Veteran Hub. After a massive Russian invasion in 2022, he returned to the front.
In his last Facebook post, made the day before his death, Krivtsov suggested playing a poem:
“Let’s play a game? You have the page number and line (above or below), I have a picture of this line. Don’t just guess – but as you wish. Since 90% of the poems here are about death, ” he wrote.
