Border guards in the Chernihiv region discovered a large floating object that sailed from Russia to Ukraine along the Desna River. Border guards in the Chernihiv region monitored the suspicious structure until it stopped off the coast on Ukrainian territory. It turned out that this was a pontoon bridge, which until recently served as a Russian crossing. At present, sappers have determined that the discovered metal structure does not pose a threat, the State Tax Service said in a statement.
The Bryansk region of Russia borders the Chernigov region.
Local media have not recently reported that a bridge was washed away somewhere in this region, but similar cases have occurred there several times.
Several years ago, a pontoon bridge collapsed in the Russian border village of Belaya Berezka.
