A storm warning was announced in Ukraine tomorrow, January 8. The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center reported this.
It is noted that icy conditions and accumulation of wet snow are expected in southern Ukraine. Heavy snow and blizzards are forecast in the central regions and in the east. Wind gusts will reach 15-20 m/s. Forecasters have declared the first (yellow) level of danger.
According to the Odessa City Council, the risk of a mine in the Black Sea is increasing because of the typhoon. Sea mines have a high probability of breaking anchors and reaching the shore, as well as drifting ashore.
Rain is expected for the region throughout the day. Visibility during rain is 200-500 meters. Wind in the morning and afternoon northeast 15-20 m/s.
