Unidentified drones regularly appear at the Bundeswehr training grounds, where the Ukrainian military trains. Bild reported it.
The UAV was discovered near the Klitz training ground in Saxony. A UAV was also spotted near the test site in Brandenburg.
“There are so many drone sightings that it would be dangerous if even a small percentage of them were spy flights. Sometimes we are open to Russian services, at least from the air,” said Free Democratic Party defense politician Marcus Faber.
The Bundeswehr also suggests that Russia may be involved in espionage, but so far they cannot prove it.
Faber believes that the German army needs advanced jamming capabilities that can disrupt drone signals and thus force them to land.
In turn, SPD defense expert Andreas Schwarz agrees that the Bundeswehr needs “more speed.”
“You can’t have the inspector general find out there’s a big problem with drones and then nothing happens for a year,” he said.
Currently, the Bundeswehr mainly uses the HP-47 effector jamming system for defense against drones, but new equipment is being purchased.
We would like to remind you that suspicious drones were observed flying over the Bundeswehr training ground in Germany, as reported in April last year.
