Dozens of Calibers: the Ukrainian Armed Forces assessed the situation at sea

The Russian military has prepared up to 40 Caliber missiles in the Black Sea for attacks on Ukraine. The worsening weather forced the invaders to return the launch vehicles to their bases, but they could use the reserves in the approach of severe frosts. The head of the joint press center of the Southern Defense Forces, Natalya Gumenyuk, announced this on the evening of Saturday, January 6, during a telethon.

“We can now estimate the total readiness of the Calibers to reach 40, as three have already been used in one of the attacks. But all the others are ready and available,” she noted.

According to Gumenyuk, the Russians are reloading these weapons on launch vehicles in Sevastopol, where it is now “uneasy” for the enemy’s army. The presence of risk affects this process. According to the defense forces, Russian ships are now equipped, but save on Caliber.

“Obviously, with the approaching cold weather that the Hydrometeorological Center predicts for us, they can use sea-based launch vehicles to strike the energy infrastructure. And that’s why we are now carefully monitoring their roles, informing in the community where they are, what they are particularly threatening, and how dangerous it is,” Gumenyuk added.

He clarified that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine currently assesses the overall level of missile danger as high. This risk will not disappear as long as the vessels launched by the Russian Federation are in the Black Sea, even in bays.

Earlier, the Main Intelligence Directorate said that there are currently 900 missiles on Russian territory. As of February 24, 2022, there are 2,300 units.
