Democratic Party leader Lee Zhe-meng was stabbed while speaking to reporters.
The leader of South Korea’s opposition Toburo Democratic Party, Lee Jae-man, was attacked during his visit to the port of Busan in the country’s southeast. Yonhap reported this on Tuesday, January 2.
The attack occurred while Lee was speaking to reporters after visiting the airport under construction. The politician was hit in the neck. The party leader began to bleed, fell and lost consciousness, and was taken to the hospital.
The attacker was detained at the scene; the agency wrote that he had “a weapon 20-30 cm long”, of which one was not specified. However, journalists suggest that he may have a knife.
