Museum staff assured reporters that most of the exhibits were safe.
The Chairman of the Lviv Regional Military (State) Administration, Maxim Kozitsky, showed on his Telegram channel what the museum of the UPA general-horuner Roman Shukhevych looked like in Belogorsch after the attack of the Russian invaders.
“Don’t think Russians that this is a victory. Because the meaning of Roman Shukhevych’s life – the fight for Ukraine – continues to live in the actions of thousands of Ukrainians. It will never be destroyed. The enemy will pay all!” the official assured.
Edition Radio Liberty referring to museum workers, it noted that most of the exhibits from the museum of UPA general-horaner Roman Shukhevych, which were destroyed by the Russians, are safe.
In particular, at the beginning of the full invasion, about 600 of the museum’s most important exhibits were moved to a safe place. However, the most important monument is the building itself in Lviv, museum representatives note.
“There are some objects in the museum that are too big,” said the representative of the Lviv Historical Museum, Petr Slobodyan.
Roman Shukhevych’s house burned down with furniture due to falling burning debris. The furnishings include armchairs, a table, a piano and an armchair. In addition, the bust of Shukhevych, created by the Ukrainian sculptor-monumentalist Mikhail Chereshnevsky, could not be saved either.
