During a meeting on December 29, the government approved a document on a new system of remuneration for civil servants, Prime Minister Denis Shmigal said.
This is primarily about justice. After all, none of the managers will now be able to award exorbitant bonuses, allowances and additional payments at their own discretion. Now 70% of a civil servant’s salary will be salary, and only 30% of bonuses, the head of government noted.
The new system, according to the Prime Minister, will cover both government bodies with jurisdiction throughout Ukraine (ministries, the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Office of the President) and regional bodies (regional and district administrations).
At the same time, starting January 1, the number of civil service vacancies is being reduced by almost 20 thousand.
The new wage system and the reduction of vacancies, according to the Ministry of Finance, will allow Ukraine to save about UAH 8 billion of budget funds and direct them in 2024 to security and defense needs.
