The Pentagon called on the US Congress to approve the president’s additional aid request for Ukraine as soon as 2024, as it is a “wise investment” in US national security.
The United States announced the allocation of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of $250 million. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced this today, December 27, the Pentagon press service wrote.
The new aid package reportedly includes:
additional munitions for the NASAMS air defense system;
Stinger anti-aircraft missiles;
air defense system components;
ammunition for HIMARS;
shells 155 and 105 mm;
TOW missiles;
javelin and AT-4;
15 million rounds of small arms and more.
It was noted that these are weapons to meet the urgent needs of Ukraine.
In addition, the Pentagon urged the US Congress to approve the President’s additional request for aid for Ukraine as soon as 2024, as it is a “wise investment” in US national security.
We remind you that the Republicans in the US Senate did not come to an agreement with the White House on changes to the immigration law, to which the aid package to Ukraine is tied. The conclusion of the agreement was postponed until January.
President Vladimir Zelensky expressed confidence that Ukraine will receive the necessary American support. “I am sure that the United States will not betray us and that what we agreed with the United States will be implemented in full,” Zelensky said.
