Currently, pilots of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are learning to fly F-16 fighters in Denmark. The training began in August and covered piloting and special training in aviation terminology in English. This was reported by the press service of the British Ministry of Defense.
This first group of pilots was formed from six experienced combat fighter pilots of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Another 10 Ukrainian trainee pilots took part in language training. They will remain in the UK for now, where they will continue their physical and practical basic flight training. In addition, pilots will study aviation medicine.
Let us recall that on December 22, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced that the Netherlands had begun the process of preparing for the transfer of the first 18 F-16 aircraft to Ukraine. Experts at the American Institute for the Study of War are confident that the first batch of American fighters could arrive in Ukraine before the end of 2023.
