Latvia sent a total of 271 vehicles confiscated from drunk drivers to Ukraine. As of mid-December, the total value of confiscated vehicles was 903,453 euros. Delfi reported it.
It was noted that documents on the transfer of another 34 cars to Ukraine, the value of which is estimated at 161,880 euros, are being prepared for the government’s consideration.
The car was delivered to Ukraine by a Twitter convoy led by Reinis Pozniak. During the existence of the project, more than 1,100 different cars were sent from Latvia with a total value of about 2 million euros, sent there weekly.
Let’s recall that at the beginning of 2023, the Seimas of Latvia supported the changes to the law on supporting the civilian population of Ukraine, which created the grounds for the transfer of vehicles confiscated from drunk drivers to the ownership of Ukraine.
