The pilots of the enemy aircraft became insolent and tried to fly closer to strike the fighters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Air Force Spokesman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Yuriy Ignat commented on Army TV about how the Ukrainian military shot down three Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers in the southern direction.
According to him, the Russians “became completely insolent” and wanted to fly closer to hit the soldiers of the Ukrainian Defense Forces with guided aerial bombs.
Ignat noted that the Ukrainian defenders caught the Russian Sushka pilots by surprise, after which “the operation took place with speed and grace.”
“The Russians became insolent, flew closer, and tried to use guided bombs to strike deeper into the defense of our troops,” he said.
As Ignat said, the 500-kg KAB can fly 20-25 km, but “when you want to and your hands are itching to strike, then… you have to fly closer.”
“They took a bad risk. We hope the invaders will take more risks,” the spokesman added.
In a commentary on Ukrainian radio, a representative of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces added that a similar shooting at the aircraft of the invaders had previously taken place near Zmeiny Island, as well as in the Bryansk region of Russia. According to him, the enemy “became hostile again,” that is, “the history of Bryansk, the stories of Odessa, where the Su-24 and Su-35 were also intercepted, taught them nothing.
“The Ukrainian military destroyed three “fat” targets at the same time at the beginning of the Russian invasion, when the enemy behaved recklessly, actually flying over Ukrainian cities,” he said.
Ignat also believes that the shooting down of three Russian aircraft is a “prime event,” and after that the invaders will think three times whether it is worth approaching the Ukrainian borders.
We remind you that on December 22, Ukrainian defenders destroyed three Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers in the south of the country. According to Ignat, this is one of the newest aircraft in service with the Russian Army. With the help of such aircraft, the invaders launch attacks using aerial bombs and missiles.
