The Czech Republic has a labor shortage in the health and social services sector. Euractiv wrote this on Friday, December 22, with reference to the country’s Labor Minister Marianna Jurechka.
“Social services, like other areas, are in a situation where there are not enough human resources… We are working on one of the possible solutions and trying to find people from Ukrainian refugees who can work in the field of health and social. We see here the largest pool of people who will quickly fill the gaps,” he said.
The official emphasized that the Czech Republic is “the most successful country” in integrating newcomers, noting that of the 373,000 Ukrainian refugees (including children and pensioners) that the Czech Republic has accepted, 123,000 people have protections that visa is now working.
He added that Ukrainians “have been able to fill the gaps where the Czech Republic has long lacked labor resources.”
