During the meeting in Argentina, Zelensky asked Orban to name one reason why Hungary does not support Ukraine’s accession to the EU.

According to the president, the Hungarian Prime Minister found it difficult to answer this question. He also found it difficult to explain why Zelensky and Orban cannot hold an official meeting.
A correspondent from the American public broadcaster NPR asked Zelensky if he had spoken with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban about peace talks with Russia.
“I never spoke with Viktor Orban about a ceasefire or negotiations with Putin,” the Ukrainian president said.
Zelensky also spoke about his recent meeting with Orban in Argentina during the inauguration of that country’s president, Javier Miley.
I told Orban – Victor, give me one reason why you don’t support us in the EU. He found it difficult to tell me. And the second question is why we can’t organize a meeting between us. He also did not answer,” Zelensky said.
Previously, the European Union was unable to make a decision on allocating economic assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 50 billion euros due to the position of Hungary.
Orban insisted he had vetoed the bailout package for Ukraine, while other politicians speaking after the summit said Hungary’s position could change.
EU authorities hope to agree on this issue at a summit early next year.
