Bridget Brink emphasized that digitalization is already helping Ukraine free itself from its past of ineffective governance.
The United States will allocate $150 million over five years to advance Ukraine’s digital transformation. This is what US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink said in a speech at the Diia Summit on Tuesday, December 19.
“I want to announce a new chapter in the US-Ukraine digital transformation partnership—an investment of $150 million over five years for the digital transformation program,” he said.
According to him, these funds are allocated to build on the efforts already made to create digital infrastructure and digitize the development processes of small and medium-sized enterprises and the business environment in Ukraine.
Digitalization is already helping Ukraine free itself from its past of ineffective governance. He is convinced that “this is a new clear example for non-transparent countries that development is possible,” the diplomat emphasized.
“Diya And Prozoro – the foundations of the Ukrainian digital transformation – were developed with the support of USAID. These trusted digital solutions have not only generated significant cost savings, but also brought about transparency and accountability, fundamentally changing the way government interacts with its citizens. However, there is still a lot of work ahead. We must continue to make efforts to strengthen digitalization and transparency not only for Ukrainians, but also for partners and investors who want to invest in your future,” Brink concluded.
We remind you that the spokesman of the National Security Council, John Kirby, said that the American aid package to Ukraine, planned for the end of December 2023, will be the last if Congress does not approve additional aid.
