Restrictions were imposed on Vladimir Putin’s cousin Anna Tsivileva and Dmitry Medvedev’s son Ilya.
The European Union on Monday, December 18, published a list of individuals and legal entities included in the 12th package of sanctions against Russia. This is reported on the EU website.
The sanctions list includes Vladimir Putin’s cousin Anna Tsivileva and the son of Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev Ilya. The first is related to the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, which “played an important role in the military aggression against Ukraine.” The so-called fund is also subject to restrictions.
Medvedev’s son is accused of organizing a “disinformation propaganda campaign” for managing the Ya in Russia platform, which provides government services in the annexed regions of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye.
Russian propagandists are also subject to sanctions. These are the Tsargrad and Spas TV channels and the presenter Anna Shafran (Palyukh), who works as the head director of analytical radio programs of Zvezda media holding.
Penalties have been imposed on prominent PMCs – St. Andrew’s Cross created by the Russian Orthodox Church, Torch and Potok, owned by Gazprom, Tsar’s Wolves of Dmitry Rogozin, Convoy of the leader of the annexed Crimea Sergei Aksenov, the Redut group of companies and the head of their recruiting, former special forces colonel Anatoly Karaziya.
Sanctions include telecommunications companies and their employees operating in the occupied territories of Ukraine: MirTelecom, Krymtelecom, Miranda Media, and the general director of the last two, Ivan Zima.
The list includes the assistant commander of the OMON detachment Arsenal of the National Guard Andrei Frolenkov and the head of the Vityaz special forces center Alexander Beloglazov, who participated in the occupation of Bucha.
Sanctions were imposed against members of the Central Election Commission for organizing an illegal referendum in September 2022: Nikolai Bulaev, member of the Just Russia party Nikolai Levichev, dean of the Faculty of Political Science at Moscow State University Andrei Shutov and 13 other people, including the chairmen of Kherson and Zaporozhye election commissions Marina Zakharova and Galina Katyushchenko.
For the first time, the Chairman of the Moscow City Duma, Alexei Shaposhnikov, was subjected to sanctions.
As we have already written, the EU authorities have approved the 12th package of sanctions against the aggressor country Russia, which will take effect after publication in the Official Journal of the EU.
Let’s add that the European Commission approved a proposal for income from frozen assets of Russia – this money will be used to restore Ukraine.
