The newly appointed Minister of Infrastructure of Poland in the government of Donald Tusk, Dariusz Klimczak, said that the protest of carriers on the border with Ukraine is a “lingering Gordian knot.”
According to him, the inaction of his predecessors led to such a situation on the Polish-Ukrainian border. He also said that solving the problem with carriers would be quite difficult.
Let us recall that on December 18, Polish carriers again blocked the passage of Ukrainian trucks across the border.
We are looking for a common denominator, taking into account which we can at least suspend the protest at the border,” Klimchak said.
According to him, he joined the discussion only today, and the problem is “a Gordian knot that was tightened with every day of inaction by his predecessors.”
This is the first time that we can even begin to discuss an agreement on transport liberalization. We know that this agreement is a bone of contention, which is why carriers are protesting at the border,” Polish Radio quotes Klimczak.
He plans to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Alexander Kubrakov in a few days and “talks to protesters every day.”
