Reuters writes about this, quoting the commander of the operational-strategic group of troops “Tavria” Alexander Tarnavsky.
Ukrainian troops are facing a shortage of artillery shells on the front lines and have scaled back some military operations due to a lack of foreign aid, the commander said.
There are problems with ammunition, especially [снарядами] Soviet model – 122 and 152 mm. And today these problems exist along the entire front line,” he said.
According to him, the shortage of artillery shells has become a “very big problem”, and the reduction in foreign military assistance is affecting the situation on the battlefield.
The volumes that we have today are not enough to meet our needs. That’s why we are redistributing them. We are rescheduling the tasks that we set for ourselves and reducing them,” Tarnavsky added.
The Russian military, he added, is also experiencing problems with ammunition, without specifying which ones.
According to Tarnavsky, on the southeastern front, in some areas the Ukrainian military has gone on the defensive, but is trying to attack other sections of the front.
At the same time, Tarnavsky noted that in some areas Ukraine is going on the defensive, while in others it continues offensive actions.
Currently, a $60 billion aid package for Ukraine remains blocked in the US Congress, and the EU has still not approved an agreement on 50 billion euros in aid
