Russian authorities want to use the so-called “elections” of the Russian President in the occupied territories of Ukraine to give a sense of legitimacy to a full-scale invasion.

    .

The Russian Central Election Commission announced on December 11 that voting in the upcoming presidential elections in March 2024 also applies to Ukrainian territories under occupation. However, such voting in TOT territories will be neither free nor fair. This is stated in the new summary of the British Ministry of Defense for December 17.

Russian authorities almost certainly view getting the “right” results in these regions as a priority as they want to lend a sense of legitimacy to the Russian invasion, the intelligence agency noted.

The department is confident that the Russian dictatorship will significantly rig the so-called elections and intimidate voters in order to ensure the victory of the current dictator Vladimir Putin by a significant margin.

Let us remind you that the Russian occupiers have begun preparations for illegal “presidential elections”, in which they will once again “elect” dictator Vladimir Putin. In particular, eight busloads of performers were delivered to Melitopol and settled in “emptied” premises.
