The enemy is probably now expecting the frosts in Ukraine to get worse. Therefore, the Russians can simply stockpile missiles and use them even from the distance to which they were pushed back by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Natalya Gumenyuk, speaker of the joint coordination press center of the Southern Defense Forces, announced on December 17 during a telethon.
According to her, sea-based Caliber cruise missiles can launch at a distance of 2.5 thousand km and cover the entire territory of Ukraine.
But so far we haven’t seen them on combat duty. In all likelihood, they expect the frosts to intensify,” the speaker noted.
Gumenyuk added that there is actually one ship on duty in the Sea of Azov, exposing the surface situation. And the enemy usually patrols the waters of the Black Sea along the coast. At the same time, Russian ships are afraid to go cold in the area that they used to patrol and are mainly located near Novorossiysk.
There have been no launch vehicles on combat duty in the Black and Azov Seas for several weeks. The Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on Telegram that as of December 17, there were no enemy carriers of Caliber cruise missiles in the Black and Azov Seas.
Let us recall that British intelligence stated that after a series of successful Ukrainian strikes, the Russian Black Sea Fleet will obviously not be able to have such control in the Black Sea, and its ships will feel less safe in ports. Also, the British Ministry of Defense suggested that the Ukrainian Defense Forces managed to actually defeat the Russian fleet.
