Due to the fall of the downed drone, private houses and a warehouse were set on fire.
On the night of December 17, Russian troops sent attack drones to the Odessa region for the third time in a week, and as a result of the attack there were deaths. This was announced by the head of the regional military administration, Oleg Kiper.
He mentioned that the air defense forces destroyed nine Shahed-136 UAVs in the region.
“One of the downed drones fell into a residential area in the Odessa region and exploded. Destruction ensued, followed by a fire in residential private houses and a warehouse of a private sports institution. Rescuers quickly extinguished the fire. A dead person was found in one of the houses,” stressed the head of OVA.
The State Emergency Service added that rescuers spent more than four hours to remove the consequences of the enemy attack, which resulted in the destruction of three one-story residential buildings, two of which were on fire. There was also the destruction of a warehouse of a private sports institution, followed by a fire.
According to the Southern Defense Forces, the Russian night attack lasted five hours. In their area of responsibility, 16 Shahed-131/136 UAVs were shot down: seven in the Kherson region and nine in the Odessa region.
Let’s recall that on the night of December 17, Russian troops launched an Iskander-K cruise missile, an X-59 guided aircraft missile and 20 Shahed attack UAVs across Ukraine.
The air defense forces shot down all drones and Kh-59s, and the Iskander-K missed its target.
