Russian intelligence creates fake accounts of Ukrainian battalions to discredit them and collect information.
Russian special services created fake Telegram channels of Ukrainian brigades and battalions to collect information and discredit the Ukrainian military. This was reported on Saturday, December 16, by the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
“The creation of fake TG channels by Ukrainian brigades and battalions has intensified online. According to their description, these channels were created allegedly to receive feedback about violations and crimes of the command,” the message said.
It was noted that in fact such channels were created by the Russians to spread their fakes and narratives, the purpose of which is to discredit both the command of brigades or battalions, and the military itself.
Also, these channels are created by enemy intelligence to collect information by receiving feedback.
The Center urges you not to use such channels and trust only verified sources of information.
It was previously reported that the Russians were spreading fake news about the “mobilization of orphans” in Ukraine.
