Italy will become another European operator of American HIMARS. In addition to 21 self-propelled launchers, the potential order also includes one container of M31A2 (GMLRS-U) missiles.
It also provides for the transfer of auxiliary, training and repair equipment, maintenance and training of personnel. Providing spare parts and other elements of software and logistics support.
In addition, the GMLRS-U missile flight monitoring kit will be transferred.
The report said the sale would strengthen the foreign policy and national security of the United States by enhancing the security of its NATO ally in Europe.
