KMZ representatives claim that the drone can carry cargo weighing up to 600 kg.
The Russian Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant KMZ presented in St. Petersburg the attack sea drone BBKN (abbreviation for “high-speed unmanned carrier boat”) Dandelions, made according to a design similar to Ukrainian drones. This was reported in connection with the Russian media military on Friday, December 15th.
The drone was ordered by the Russian Ministry of Defense in the amount of ten aircraft for testing, which should take place directly in the combat zone against Ukraine.
The lack of a camera would not allow the drone to be used against maneuverable surface targets, but media believe its purpose is to strike static targets such as bridges and ports.
KMZ representatives say that the drone can carry a warhead or other cargo weighing up to 600 kilograms. The SeaBaby drone that hit the Crimean Bridge in July 2023 had 850 kg of explosives on board.
The unmanned boat can cover a distance of 200 km at a speed of up to 80 km/h. It was enough to hit Odessa when launched from the Crimea. In addition, it is possible to launch them from ships already at sea.
At the same time, it is not clear how it can be controlled without satellite communications, since the corresponding antennas were not found on board.
The media suggest that for this, the Russians used an inertial system with correction based on GPS signals, as in the Shahed-136 drones. The possibility of using drones as communication relays cannot be ruled out either.

Let’s remember that Russia is trying to expand cooperation with the DPRK and, in particular, wants to buy shells for use in the war against Ukraine.
